As an Artist...

I enjoy textures, layering and muted tones. Seeing these excite me and I am drawn to make more like them. I find that I can achieve these aesthetics best in oil paint.

I have found that these aesthetics are mostly mimicked in things old, things pertaining to history and the earth. I paint what I have urges to, move how the paint tells me to move, and let the results carry their own meaning.

My work that is not paint is more planned, but comes from the same place. It comes from texture, from muted colors and neutral tones, from things pertaining to history and the earth. The essence is the same.

As an Art Educator...

I enjoy seeing my knowledge positively affect students. I thrive through helping students who already enjoy the arts learn about and make better art, as well as through getting other students newly excited about art-making.
